About

About The PCOS Companion.

An independent project with one goal: to give people with PCOS the clear, calm, evidence-informed explanation that a short appointment rarely has time for.

Why this exists

PCOS affects roughly one in ten women of reproductive age, and many wait years for a diagnosis — then leave with a prescription and very little explanation. Online, the gap is filled by miracle protocols, supplement funnels and fear. We built The PCOS Companion to be the opposite: sourced, specific, and kind.

What we publish

  • The PCOS library — free, in-depth articles on symptoms, diagnosis, insulin resistance, diet, exercise, supplements, fertility, medication and mental health.
  • Free tools — a symptom quiz, cycle calculator, insulin-resistance checker and BMI calculator. They run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is stored.
  • The Companion — a 44-page designed PDF guide with printable trackers and a 32-lesson interactive course, for a one-time $27.

Who we are

The PCOS Companion is a small, independent, self-funded publisher. We are not a clinic, and we do not provide medical care. Our content is written by our editorial team and checked line by line against primary sources — chiefly the 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline for PCOS, peer-reviewed research indexed in PubMed, and guidance from bodies such as the NIH, ACOG and the WHO. We don’t currently have a clinician on staff, and we won’t pretend otherwise; read exactly how we handle accuracy in our editorial and sources policy.

How we’re funded

Our only revenue is the one-time sale of the Companion guide and its optional $12 Kitchen Companion add-on. We don’t sell supplements, we don’t use affiliate links, we don’t accept sponsored content, and we don’t sell data. The free library and tools are funded by guide sales.

What we will never do

  • Claim to cure or reverse PCOS.
  • Invent experts, reviewers, testimonials or statistics.
  • Tell you to stop or change a medication — that’s a conversation for your clinician.
  • Shame anyone for their body, their weight or their goals.
